The Opportunity

Build the Future With Us - Join WSP's Applied Solutions team as a Construction Supervisor, Winter Access Construction & Environmental Remediation and play a critical leadership role in delivering complex environmental remediation and winter-road construction projects across Northern Canada.

This rotational position will support a major remediation program operating throughout the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut . You will lead field construction activities in challenging remote environments, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Project work is anticipated from December 2026 through May 2027 , with the possibility of extension or transition into a permanent role based on project requirements and business needs. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, Indigenous partners, contractors, and clients, you'll help deliver environmentally responsible solutions that create lasting benefits for northern communities and ecosystems.

Rotations are typically 2 weeks on (plus travel) followed by 10 days off , with travel, accommodations, and meals provided while on assignment.

Your Impact

• Lead and supervise all on-site ice road, winter road, environmental remediation, earthworks, and civil construction activities to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
• Champion WSP's Life-Saving Rules and promote a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
• Coordinate daily field operations, equipment, resources, logistics, and subcontractors to meet project schedule and budget objectives.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with Indigenous communities, local contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, workforce productivity, equipment utilization, and construction costs while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure construction activities comply with contract requirements, technical specifications, permits, environmental commitments, and quality standards.
• Resolve field challenges proactively to minimize delays and support successful project delivery.
• Contribute to the successful completion of environmentally responsible projects that positively impact northern communities and the surrounding environment.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• 5-7+ years of construction supervision experience on civil, infrastructure, mine closure, environmental remediation, or earthworks projects.
• Demonstrated experience with ice road and winter road construction in northern or remote environments.
• Strong understanding of construction equipment, field logistics, workforce planning, scheduling, and productivity management.
• Experience supervising subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary field teams.
• Proven experience managing health and safety programs with a demonstrated Safety-First mindset.
• Knowledge of Canadian construction safety legislation, contract administration, and construction quality requirements.
• Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous contractors, businesses, and communities.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work rotational schedules in remote locations throughout the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $46.00 – $61.00
• MB & ON: $42.00 – $57.80
• NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $41.60 – $55.20
