What You Will Do
As a Technical Publications– Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Technical Developer Intern at Pratt & Whitney you will…..
- Assist in development of AI/ML prototypes to support technical data analysis and process improvement
- Work with structured technical data (e.g., Ex stensible Markup Language (XML) - based documentation) to prepare datasets for analysis
- Develop and test machine learning models for classification, pattern recognition, or anomaly detection
- Evaluate model performance using measurable metrics (precision, recall, false positive rate)
- Build scripts and tools to support exploratory data analysis and preprocessing
- Support integration of AI-assisted outputs into a human-in-the-loop review workflow
- Document model assumptions, limitations, and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with technical publications , Quality Assurance , and engineering stakeholders to validate prototype outputs
What You Will Learn
- Development of at least one functioning AI prototype in sandbox environment
- Documented performance evaluation against defined baseline metrics
- Defined human-in-the-loop workflow for model validation
- Technical report detailing model architecture, assumptions, and improvement roadmap

Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with data preprocessing and model evaluation techniques
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) concepts
- Experience collaborating in teams and managing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Experience with Python programming and machine learning concept
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
