Raytheon's internship program is designed to empower growth by exploring the dynamic nature of the defense industry throughout Raytheon Operations, Supply Chain & Quality (OSCQ). Throughout the summer, you will be able to expand your knowledge of OSCQ while also gaining unprecedented exposure to leadership along the way.
A Packaging Engineer will provide unique designs for fabrication of shipping containers, parts presentation vehicles and material handling equipment. Packaging Engineers are the main resources available for the shipment of Hazardous Materials and are familiar with the Federal regulations concerning the transport of these materials.
What You Will Do
- Support multiple major production programs, by creating and maintaining work instructions for the packaging and shipment of end items, design, and detailing of special material handling equipment and shipping containers
- Utilize CREO computer aided design technology to generate 3-dimensional models and technical drawing packages
- Determine adequate packaging for incoming hardware, supporting various product and upper-level assemblies.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in mechanical engineering and actively enrolled through completion of the internship session
- Experience with Packaging Engineering processes and tools
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
- Experience/Education of Defense Manufacturing processes
- Experience/Education with CREO
- 3.0 cumulative GPA

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
