What You Will Do
As a Mechanical Engineering Structures Intern at Pratt & Whitney you will…
- Support engineering related efforts to meet shop and supplier delivery requirements.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA work to address QN’s.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical solutions and deliver results.
- Document and present analysis outcomes through formal reports and presentations to management and customers.

- Perform structural analysis using both hand calculations and finite element analysis, building strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interpret analysis results and translate them into actionable recommendations and proposals for leadership and product teams.
- Ability to determine the most efficient way to accurately solve structural problems.
- Skills in documenting technical work through formal reports and delivering clear, persuasive presentations to management and customers.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field, and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship
- Experience with Ansys
- Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis.
- Experience working in the Aerospace Industry within the structural discipline.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
