About the Role
The Senior Accountant performs investment and trust accounting activities, daily transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, and other operational accounting functions.
While this position is an employee of Deseret Trust Company, it supports the broader mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The role is within a smaller, collaborative department with the support, stability, and benefits of a larger organization.

What to Expect
This is a hands-on accounting role with significant daily transaction volume and recurring deadlines. Successful employees are professional and comfortable balancing detail-oriented processing work with analysis, reporting, problem solving, and process improvement. There are busy periods throughout the month and year that require flexibility and attention to deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Process investment and trust account transactions.
- Prepare daily reconciliations and recurring accounting activities.
- Prepare assigned financial and operational reports.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Five years of related experience in accounting, finance, auditing, or banking related functions
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume environment
Preferred
- Experience in investment accounting, trust accounting, banking, or financial services
- Public accounting experience
- Familiarity with fiduciary, nonprofit, or trust accounting environments
- CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar certification
