Director, Strategic Workforce Planning

About The Role

LSEG is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to evolve our enterprise Strategic Workforce Planning capability.

As Director, Strategic Workforce Planning, you will be responsible for translating business strategy into workforce strategy, enabling leaders to make informed decisions about workforce size, shape, skills, location, productivity and investment. You will create the frameworks, methodologies, governance and capabilities that connect workforce planning, talent strategy, organisation design, skills, finance and business planning into a single integrated approach.

Working closely with Executive leadership, Finance, Business Leaders, Engineering and the broader People Function, you will lead the development of a leading workforce planning capability that supports both short-term operational planning and long-term strategic workforce transformation.

This role will act as the enterprise authority for workforce planning and workforce intelligence, driving the adoption of data-driven workforce decisions across a global organisation of more than 38,000 employees and external workers.

Key Accountabilities

Define and lead LSEG's enterprise Strategic Workforce Planning strategy and roadmap.

  • Translate business strategy, growth ambitions and transformation priorities into workforce implications and workforce plans.
  • Develop multi-year workforce scenarios to support strategic decision making.
  • Lead workforce demand, supply, capability and capacity planning across divisions and functions.
  • Establish planning methodologies, standards and governance that can be adopted consistently across the organisation.
  • Drive workforce-based decisions regarding growth, restructuring, location strategy and investment priorities.

Roll out and evolve our Operational Workforce Planning foundational capability.

  • Own the evolution of enterprise workforce planning capabilities and supporting technologies.
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance and HR teams to optimise planning processes and data flows.
  • Drive adoption of workforce planning platforms including Workday Adaptive Planning and workforce analytics solutions such as Visier.
  • Ensure workforce plans are embedded into annual planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of planning capabilities through technology, automation and AI-enabled insights.

Skills and Future workforce Strategy & AI Impact

  • Partner with Talent, Learning and AI Workforce Transformation teams to define future workforce capability needs.
  • Establish frameworks to identify critical skills, future skill requirements and capability gaps.
  • Support the organisation's transition towards skills-based workforce planning and deployment.
  • Integrate skills intelligence into workforce planning and talent strategies.
  • Develop approaches for workforce reskilling, upskilling and redeployment at scale.

Experience & Qualifications required

  • Significant experience leading Strategic Workforce Planning within a large global organisation.
  • Proven track record building workforce planning capabilities, operating models or centres of excellence.
  • Experience partnering with Executive leadership teams on strategic workforce decisions.
  • Deep understanding of workforce planning methodologies, workforce analytics and scenario modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of organisation design, workforce transformation and talent strategy.
  • Experience implementing or operating workforce planning technologies and analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect workforce investments to business outcomes.
  • Deep experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Experience within financial services, technology, professional services or large multinational organisations.
  • Consulting or transformation leadership experience.
  • Experience leading skills-based workforce planning initiatives.
  • Experience incorporating AI and advanced analytics into workforce planning processes.
