About The Role

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts . Our Team provides care for a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit, including 21 beds equipped with bedside hemodynamic monitoring capabilities and 24-hour monitoring of these systems while working closely with Key teams and providers to deliver quality care.

The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to medically complex patients while developing advanced clinical skills in a dynamic Medical Step-Down Unit. Nurses collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team and utilize continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring to recognize changes in patient condition, intervene promptly, and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

The Registered Nurse Will

Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit, caring for patients with complex medical needs.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in clinical condition.
Monitor patients continuously using cardiac, vital-sign, and bedside hemodynamic monitoring systems.
Provide 24-hour surveillance of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and recognize abnormal readings or trends.
Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions within scope of practice.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care.
Educate patients and families, promote safe transitions of care, and support positive patient outcomes and recovery.

Required Skills

Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
