Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the technical architecture of desktop applications for Digital ultrasound systems, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and clinical workflow needs.
  • Translate ultrasound clinical workflows and business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable desktop software architectures.
  • Drive end-to-end architecture decisions across desktop applications, algorithm engineering, backend services, data storage, and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with product managers, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to define system requirements, prioritize features, and identify technical enablers for business growth.
  • Apply principles of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and methodologies such as Lean/Agile/XP, CI/CD, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring, and Testing Techniques.
  • Design and develop desktop applications for ultrasound imaging, including real-time image acquisition, processing, and display.
  • Architect and develop cluster server solutions to support distributed computing, large-scale data storage, and high-performance processing for ultrasound systems.
  • Guide and mentor software development teams in best practices for architecture design, code quality, performance optimization, and security.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and tools that align with long-term product vision and business strategy.
  • Lead technical due diligence and system integration efforts during hospital deployments and upgrades, while considering business impact and ROI.
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovations in medical imaging, ultrasound technology, and AI-enabled clinical workflows, and assess their business applicability.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in software development and architecture.
  • Deep expertise in desktop application development using frameworks such as Qt, WPF, or Electron, with strong proficiency in C++ and/or C#.
  • Demonstrated experience in ultrasound imaging workflows, including real-time image acquisition, processing, and display in clinical environments.
  • Proven track record in algorithm engineering and optimization, with the ability to translate research algorithms into production-ready software.
  • Strong experience in cluster server development and distributed systems, including high-performance computing and scalable backend architectures.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, DICOM, FHIR, and IHE integration profiles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure) and containerized deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of mentoring engineering teams and influencing technical strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with non-technical stakeholders, understand business objectives, and translate them into technical strategies.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience in an Agile/XP environment, with a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and software security best practices.
