About The Role
In accordance with corporate policies and procedures, as a member of the team, perform inventory management functions of a warehouse. Inventory management includes counting items, photographing items, updating inventory management systems, processing purchase orders, sending item receipts, etc..
- Perform all tasks associated with the creation of purchase orders.
- Validate advance shipping notice documents from the Client with outstanding purchase orders to ensure that merchandise received matches that which was ordered. Process receipts into the Inventory Control System. Notify your manager of any receiving discrepancies.
- Take necessary action to minimize out of stock conditions, slow movers, discontinued items and short shelf-life items.
- Review and monitor inventory on large ship deployments with the team. Take the necessary inventory adjustments to support the anticipated load outs.
- Review and monitor advance shipping notices and purchase orders to ensure that product is ordered and received within the required time frame to support the customers’ required delivery dates.
- Maintain a file of all outstanding purchase orders placed with manufacturers. Follow up with team on all outstanding and overdue purchase orders.
- Review daily EDI transmission logs.
- Validate receipt documents from the vendors with outstanding purchase orders to ensure that merchandise received matches that which was ordered. Process receipts into the Inventory Control System. Notify the warehouse manager and the client of any receiving discrepancies.
- Review inventory reports and report out of stocks, slow movers, discontinued items and short shelf-life items to the Assistant Branch Manager. Produce and distribute applicable periodic inventory reports.
- Maintain necessary files and records; prepare and process correspondence
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, equipment and surrounding area.
- Conduct all functions in a safe working manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent in industry name required.
- 1-3 Years inventory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must present a consistently professional demeanor and be able to work in a highly flexible position.
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Must have strong logistics skills to include knowledge of order processing, inventory management, client and customer satisfaction
- Must have experience using inventory management systems.
- Must have forklift experience and/or be willing to get forklift certified to operate a fork lift.
