Assistant Accountant

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Part qualifications in AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
Five years of relevant experience preferred.
Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
Experience with accounting software such as [QuickBooks / Xero / Sage / ERP system] is an advantage.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Scope

Recording financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
Maintaining accounting records and ensuring documents are properly filed.
Preparing invoices and checking bills, receipts, and payment documents.
Accounts payable and receivable — tracking money owed to suppliers and money due from customers.
Bank reconciliation — comparing bank statements with company accounting records and identifying differences.
Preparing financial reports such as income statements, expense reports, and account summaries.
Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
Assisting with payroll and checking salary-related records when required.
Assisting with tax and statutory requirements by preparing relevant financial information and documents.
Checking accuracy of accounts and identifying errors or unusual transactions.
Supporting auditors by providing accounting records and supporting documents.
Using accounting software such as SAP, Oracle Cloud or similar systems.
Assisting the Accountant or Finance Manager with other financial and administrative duties.
