About The Role
The Category Manager supports the Category Head in overseeing the product lifecycle within a specific category. This role is responsible for assisting in product selection, supplier coordination, pricing, promotional activities, and ensuring efficient store fulfilment. The role contributes to achieving category sales, profitability, and inventory targets by handling operational execution, supplier follow-ups, and performance tracking.
Accountabilities
Category Portfolio & Product Lifecycle Management
- Support the category strategy development and execution by analyzing sales trends, competitor activity, and customer insights.
- Assist in the product selection, listing, and delisting process based on sales performance and market trends.
- Monitor product performance and suggest potential expansions, seeding plans, and liquidation strategies.
Supplier Coordination & Contract Support
- Assist in supplier negotiations and contract execution by preparing analysis and supplier proposals.
- Support Joint Business Planning (JBP) with suppliers to optimize rebates, discounts, and promotional investments.
- Ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations related to pricing, availability, and stock replenishment.
Pricing & Promotions Management
- Conduct market research to support pricing and promotional strategies.
- Work closely with marketing to coordinate promotion calendars, advertising plans, and in-store activations.
- Track promotion effectiveness and report findings to the Category Head for continuous optimization.
Store Fulfilment & Inventory Optimization
- Assist in inventory forecasting and demand planning to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Work with supply chain teams to manage order placement, replenishment, and distribution models.
- Ensure planogram compliance and that stores maintain agreed-upon category layouts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
- Support finance with cost analysis, margin optimization, and budgeting tasks.
- Liaise with operations to resolve store-level issues related to category availability and placement.
- Provide data-driven insights to help marketing develop effective consumer engagement strategies.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor category KPIs, including sales performance, profit margins, and inventory turnover.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to support decision-making for the Category Department Manager.
- Recommend improvements based on data analysis and competitor benchmarking.

- Indoors : 90 %
- Outdoors : 10%
- Working Days : 5 Working Days
- Days off : 2 Days Off
- Working Hours : 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 hour break)
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-6 years in retail, FMCG, or category management roles
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and analytics tools.
- Languages: English - Arabic
