EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field and 3 to 5 years of successful supervisory experience in hiring, staffing, recruiting, human resources related experience required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred); OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field, and 5 to 8 years of successful supervisory experience in hiring, staffing, recruiting, and human resources-related experience, and current PHR or SHRM-CP certification required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lead and supervise a team of 3 to 5 direct reports
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Proficient in the use of business software applications including Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to align with school system goals and initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discretely with extremely confidential information
  • Proven thought-leadership with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities and management skills
  • Excellent customer service and cross-group collaboration competencies
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience defining and tracking key metrics related to certificated and non-certificated talent acquisition and engagement
  • Demonstrated a high level of personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to travel overnight and work late evenings and occasional weekends as necessary

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serves as primary point-of-contact for assigned schools and departments for all human resources matters
  • Supports all phases of the employee life cycle including recruiting and selection, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with building administrators and department heads to support school system needs
  • Coordinates recruitment and staffing initiatives for assigned schools and departments to ensure proper staffing is maintained to accomplish the educational mission of the school/department
  • Maintains and reconciles staffing, as related to recruitment, for assigned schools and departments
  • Assists with organizing and coordinating CCPS recruitment initiatives with colleges, universities, and other organizations; represents CCPS at job fairs and recruiting events
  • Participates on interview/search committees as needed
  • Conducts internal employment investigations and manages employee relations issues as required
  • Presents, interprets, and implements state and county policies and procedures, including negotiated agreements
  • Serves on negotiating teams for collective bargaining as assigned by the Superintendent and Board of Education
  • Provides exceptional customer service by assisting with employee services such as certification, FMLA, and other leaves of absence, benefits, etc.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to employment law and hiring practices
  • Participates in appropriate professional organizations related to Human Resources
  • Serves as the human resources liaison for departments (e.g. payroll), various focus groups, committees, etc. as required
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
