About The Role

Are you looking to start your career in project management while working on one of the UK's most exciting renewable energy infrastructure projects?

As an Apprentice Project Manager , you will learn how major engineering and construction projects are planned, coordinated and delivered. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, Engineers and Construction teams, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of the Eastern Green Link 1 (EGL1) project.

This role is ideal for someone aged 16–18 who is eager to learn, organised, enjoys working with people and wants to develop a career in project management, engineering or construction.

You don't need previous project management experience – we'll provide the training, mentoring and support you need to succeed, including the opportunity to achieve a fully funded degree-level qualification in Project Management .

Key Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Project Manager, you will

  • Support the Project Management team with the day-to-day coordination of project activities.
  • Attend team meetings and record actions, decisions and project updates.
  • Help monitor project progress against key milestones and deadlines.
  • Assist with maintaining project documentation, records and reports.
  • Learn how project schedules and delivery plans are developed and managed.
  • Support communication between engineers, construction teams, subcontractors and clients.
  • Visit project sites to gain an understanding of construction activities, engineering processes and safety requirements.
  • Help organise meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Assist in tracking project risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, dashboards and project progress reports.
  • Learn how project budgets, resources and costs are monitored and controlled.
  • Help ensure project information is accurate, organised and up to date.
  • Develop an understanding of environmental, sustainability and health and safety requirements on major infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with the coordination of suppliers, contractors and project partners.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Balance workplace learning with academic study to successfully complete your degree-level Project Management qualification.
