About The Role

The APAC Finance Center is a high-performing and culturally diverse team. A key priority of the department is to act as a center of excellence to drive alignment and improvement of financial reporting processes and systems in the APAC region.

In this role, you will be managing the preparation of monthly financial statements for submission to the Corporate level. You will also be involved in a variety of professional accounting functions for one or more businesses within Stryker's operations – including monitoring accounts, reviewing and analyzing documentation, transactions and reconciliation, managing legal entity month-end closure and reporting process. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with different stakeholders to make your impact on process improvement and system transformation projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture, track, and report revenue and expenses; determine appropriate procedures for accounting record preparation, research of transactions, and reporting end-to-end.
  • Perform accounting month-end close procedures, run and analyze financial reports, and prepare financial statements for submission to Corporate for consolidations.
  • Full knowledge of balance sheets of small entities or a regular recurring process.
  • Work with BPO to oversee, reconcile and resolve problems related to accounting entries requiring professional knowledge and judgment.
  • Maintain and review accounting process controls, implement any approved modification as directed by management.
  • Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for Stryker processes or review DTP's prepared by BPO.
  • Test, execute and document internal controls audit programs according to SOX and Corporate policies.
  • Recommend, assist, test, or implement process streamlining, system improvements or work flow changes.
  • Collect data, information, policies and perform research on details of transactions. Ensure work complies with corporate and accounting policies.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3 years of audit experience in Big 4 / 2nd tier firms OR 5 to 7 years of commercial accounting experience in MNCs.
  • CPA qualification is a distinct advantage. CPA finalists will also be considered.
  • Strong MS Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to convey information clearly and effectively to business partners and stakeholders.

  • High ethical standards and integrity.

Travel Percentage: 20%
