About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

Build a strong foundation in restructuring, insolvency and advisory work by supporting a diverse range of corporate and personal engagements. Working with experienced professionals, you will develop practical commercial, financial and investigative skills while helping clients and stakeholders navigate complex and often time-critical situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support a varied portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency, restructuring and advisory engagements under the guidance of experienced team members.
Conduct investigations by reviewing books and records, analysing financial information, tracing transactions and identifying key issues.
Assist with trading, asset realisation and operational work, including liaising with employees, creditors, clients and other stakeholders.
Prepare clear correspondence, working papers and reports for clients, creditors, courts, regulators and other stakeholders.
Assist with statutory and regulatory compliance, including BAS and tax lodgements, ASIC notices, ASIC Administration Returns.
Maintain accurate engagement records and information in relevant systems, applying sound judgement, confidentiality and attention to detail.
Collaborate with colleagues and specialists across RSM, contributing ideas and building commercial and technical capability through hands-on experience.

About you

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Essential

A completed or near-completed Business or Commerce degree, preferably with an Accounting major
A completed or near-completed Law degree with an interest in restructuring and insolvency

Desirable

An interest in corporations law, business operations or restructuring

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Curiosity, initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
A practical, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to learn
Confidence working with numbers, data and digital tools
Professional judgement, integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information
