About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Maternal & Child Health Nurse to join our clinical team on a part-time fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027 (with the potential for extension). This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality maternal and child health support through a telehealth model, delivering assessment, education, advice, triage and referral services to pregnant women, parents and families with children aged 0 to 5 years.

Key responsibilities include

Providing high-quality maternal and child health assessment, support and advice through telephone and video-based consultations.
Conducting clinical triage and facilitating referrals to appropriate health, counselling and community support services.
Maintaining accurate and confidential electronic records and statistical data.
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
Participating in team meetings and supporting a collaborative working environment.
Utilising contemporary telehealth and video conferencing technology to enhance service delivery.

Available Shifts

Week 1

Monday: 3:30pm to 8:30pm or 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm

Week 2

Monday: 3:30pm to 8:30pm
Saturday: 2:00pm to 10:30pm

Please note: 5 full days of training is required at our Bundoora office during the first two weeks of employment before commencing the regular part-time roster.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring

Registration as a Registered Nurse and Midwife with postgraduate qualification in Maternal and Child Health Nursing
Minimum two years' experience in Maternal and Child Health Nursing with advanced clinical knowledge of maternal and child health practice
Highly developed assessment, communication and clinical decision-making skills.
Proficient computer and IT skills, with the ability to confidently navigate multiple websites, databases and systems simultaneously while providing professional and effective support during telephone consultations.
Strong interpersonal, organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated understanding of the diverse cultural, social and religious backgrounds of children and families.
Experience providing support and advice in a telehealth environment is highly regarded.
