Senior Data Engineer – People Analytics

About The Role
Your future starts here
You build and operate trusted HR data products on our AWS-native HR One Data Platform. Your initial priority will be to strengthen the data foundation, deliver priority pipelines, and establish reliable and sustainable operations. You will take ownership of data-engineering delivery and help shape the team’s technical standards. You will work closely with the Product Manager, People Analytics colleagues, and stakeholders across HR, IT, Security, and engineering. As the platform matures, you will increasingly embed technical data-governance capabilities into its pipelines and data products.
- Build and operate scalable HR data pipelines, integrations, data models, and reusable data products on our AWS-native platform. Develop distributed data-processing and transformation workloads using Python, PySpark , SQL, AWS Glue, and dbt
- Ensure reliable operations through automated data-quality controls, monitoring, documentation, security, troubleshooting, and recovery
- Translate business and analytical requirements into well-designed technical solutions and trusted datasets
- Establish effective engineering and CI/CD practices using Python, SQL, AWS Glue, GitLab, and related technologies
- Embed agreed data-governance requirements into data products, including metadata, lineage, access controls, and lifecycle rules
- Set engineering standards, develop reusable patterns, and mentor less experienced colleagues
Your skills
- Several years of experience delivering and operating production data solutions
- Strong background in cloud data engineering across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting, with AWS preferred
- Strong Python and SQL skills, along with practical experience developing distributed data-processing workloads with PySpark ( Experience with AWS Glue and GitLab CI/CD is preferred )
- Sound knowledge of data modelling, data quality, security, documentation and maintainable engineering practices, with experience in data governance or sensitive data a plus
- Experience with People Analytics, HR Technology, Workday, SAP, data governance, or other sensitive and regulated data is beneficial
- Autonomous, pragmatic and engaged, you take initiative and drive work to results
- Communicative, you explain technical topics clearly and focus on business outcomes
- Team-oriented, you collaborate across functions and support colleagues through mentoring
- Fluent English; other Swiss national languages are an advantage
