About The Role

Freo Group Pty Ltd

As a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings—which is backed by Berkshire Hathaway— you’ll be doing things that matter, leading at every level, and winning a better way. We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.

Mobilisation Officer – Join Us in Lifting the Weight Off Your Shoulders. Safely.

At Freo Group, our people make the difference. We are committed to working safely, supporting our communities, and delivering quality outcomes for our clients. Backed by Marmon Group and Berkshire Hathaway, we combine the strength of a global organisation with the agility of a locally focused business.

We support Tier 1 customers across the Mining, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Renewables sectors. With operations across Australia, Freo Group provides the opportunity to grow your career while contributing to some of the nation’s most significant projects.

What we’re looking for

Sitting at the intersection of Operations, workforce planning, compliance and project delivery, you will play a critical role in ensuring the right people are available, compliant and ready to mobilise across shutdowns, maintenance programs and project work.

We are looking for someone who understands that successful mobilisation is ultimately about planning ahead, anticipating operational needs and solving problems before they reach site. Partnering closely with operational leaders, you will manage workforce priorities, identify labour constraints and drive practical solutions that support seamless delivery.

This opportunity will suit an experienced mobilisation or workforce planning professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact on operational performance. The role operates on an 8:6 roster, offering a structured work cycle that supports both operational continuity and work-life balance.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Significant experience across mobilisation, workforce planning, scheduling, rostering or resource coordination
  • Strong experience managing competing workforce requirements across multiple projects or operational environments
  • Exposure to mining, resources, shutdowns, maintenance, construction, crane hire or industrial services
  • Demonstrated capability coordinating FIFO, DIDO, shutdown or project-based workforces
  • Strong understanding of mobilisation compliance including site access, licences, competencies, medicals, inductions and training
  • Highly developed organisational and workforce scheduling capability
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work directly with operational leaders
  • Advanced attention to detail without losing sight of the broader operational picture
  • Strong problem-solving capability and the ability to make sound decisions when priorities change quickly
  • Confidence working with workforce systems, scheduling platforms and Microsoft Excel.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating workforce planning and resource allocation across multiple projects, shutdowns and operational requirements
  • Developing and maintaining workforce rosters, availability plans and mobilisation schedules
  • Matching suitably skilled personnel to operational requirements while optimising workforce utilisation
  • Identifying labour shortages, scheduling conflicts and mobilisation risks before they impact project delivery
  • Maintaining clear visibility of workforce availability, utilisation, vacancies and mobilisation status
  • Ensuring personnel satisfy all required licences, competencies, inductions, medicals, training and site access requirements
  • Partnering with Operations and Supervisors to respond quickly to changing workforce requirements
  • Coordinating travel, accommodation and associated mobilisation logistics
  • Providing accurate workforce planning and mobilisation reporting to operational stakeholders
  • Identifying recurring mobilisation challenges and implementing more efficient, consistent ways of working.
