Key Responsibility Areas

• Provides technical support to the Area / Works Project Engineer.
• Responsible for the professional analysis of the various aspects associated with water conveyance and storage, wastewater conveyance and disposal.
• Interacts with the other organisations and affected parties in order to ensure that all parties are advised of projects that affect them.
• Undertakes professional supervision of contracts.
• Responsible for the preparation of draft routine reports, correspondence and estimates for submission to Area Engineer.
• Responsible for checking of Developers submission in order to ensure compliance with the Departments design criteria and specifications.

Special Conditions

Post of Engineer (Civil) on the same grade are interchangeable within the Department at the discretion of the Deputy Head.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Civil Engineering.
• Registered as a Candidate Civil Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) within 3 months of appointment.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 2 years relevant post qualification experience.
• Computer Literacy.
