About The Role

Office Location : London

The role

This role provides operational and strategic HR support across the UK business. You will take overall accountability for the effective delivery of the day-to-day HR service, partnering with managers, Partners and senior leaders to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice and deliver people initiatives that support business priorities and a positive employee experience.

Alongside leading employee relations matters, you will contribute to organisational change, performance and talent management, workforce planning and the continuous improvement of HR services. You will maintain oversight of employee lifecycle activity completed by HR Operations and ensure priorities, actions and service expectations are clear, accurate and delivered on time.

Working closely with HR Operations and colleagues across Talent Development, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards, you will ensure a consistent and joined-up approach, identify risks and workforce insights, and translate leadership decisions into effective operational delivery. This opportunity will suit a proactive, organised and resilient HR professional who combines sound judgement with strong stakeholder relationships and enjoys balancing a busy operational agenda with broader people priorities.

The team

You will be part of the wider EMEA HR function while taking ownership of HR delivery for the UK. The UK team works closely with HR Operations and specialist colleagues to provide a responsive, consistent and high-quality service to employees, managers, Partners and senior leaders.

What your day will look like

  • Providing subject matter expertise and oversight across employee lifecycle activity delivered by HR Operations, and support by providing appropriate advice to managers.
  • Leading employee relations matters and advising managers, Partners and senior leaders on performance, conduct, absence, wellbeing and other people issues.
  • Partnering with the business on performance and talent management, workforce planning, organisational change and people initiatives aligned with UK priorities.
  • Working with HR Operations, HRIS and Centres of Excellence to coordinate delivery, clarify responsibilities and embed consistent HR practices.
  • Using workforce data, case trends and stakeholder feedback to manage risk, brief senior leaders and improve HR policies, processes and employee experience.

What we are looking for

  • Substantial experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with direct accountability for a broad operational HR remit, ideally in a global legal or professional services environment.
  • Proven ability to oversee day-to-day HR operations independently, balance competing priorities, ensure activity is completed by the appropriate HR teams and take issues through to a clear and timely resolution.
  • Strong employee relations and UK employment law knowledge, with experience identifying risk and applying policy pragmatically and consistently.
  • Strong experience working through a shared-service or matrix HR model, with the ability to coordinate delivery and influence colleagues.
  • Confidence working directly with senior leaders, with the judgement and credibility to advise, influence and challenge constructively.
  • Experience using HR systems, case management information and workforce data to monitor delivery, identify trends and support decisions.
  • A track record of improving HR processes, controls and employee experience while maintaining compliance and service quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation and attention to detail, together with a relevant HR qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Why Join

This role offers genuine ownership of a broad UK operational HR remit and regular access to senior decision-makers. You will have the autonomy to oversee the day-to-day service, advise managers on people matters and use operational insight to influence leadership decisions.
