As a Software Engineer II at Akamai, you will design, build, and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and user-friendly solutions on our infrastructure. You'll collaborate with architects to refine requirements, architect solutions, implement features, and conduct unit testing to ensure high performance and maintainability. In this role, you'll also stay ahead of emerging technologies, integrating them as needed to drive innovation and efficiency.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for

Creating new features, or enhance existing functionality, from design through testing and deployment.
Interacting with development, product management, architecture, QA, and support teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Working in an agile sprint environment to deliver quality software on a regular and consistent basis.
Involving in enhancement and bug fixes of existing applications and understanding and resolving complex technical problems.
Measuring, maintaining and optimizing distributed system performance and working in diverse nature of programming languages as needed.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will

Have 2+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Have proficient experience in developing applications using Java, Spring, JavaScript & databases.
Have experience in working on front end technologies like Angular/bootstrap/ReactJS.
Have exposure to building LLM-powered applications and AI agents, including MCP servers that integrate models with external tools, data sources, and APIs.
Have knowledge of one or more web programming languages such as Python, Perl or Php with exposure to AI coding tools.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, understanding, and analyzing emerging technologies independently while utilizing build tools and Linux Shell commands effectively.
