You ensure quality in the factory and are responsible for meeting quality targets. You are fully responsible for the people, machinery and the identification and elimination of quality losses and problems in the department. You grow your team’s capabilities and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and ISO standards. In this role, you report directly to the plant manager with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.

How you will contribute

You will ensure that all quality objectives, goals and targets in the factory (including regional and global commitments) are met. You will develop and track your department’s budget and eliminate losses. With your team, you will conduct regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan how targets will be met, executing the plan and periodically checking and taking action to stay on track. In addition, you will ensure that there is strict adherence with all appropriate laws, food safety quality standards and consumer requirements of all manufactured products and manage crisis situations internally and externally in ways that support the company’s image, policies and business. As a people leader, you are responsible for recruitment and structuring of the department to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver on plant objectives, set and assess performance goals, and coach and mentor team members.

  • Project management and managing multiple priorities
  • Commercial strategy process, product/package development process, food safety, plant commercialization, ingredient and package technology and training and coaching technical material

  • Statistical processes and problem-solving techniques
  • Working with external manufacturing suppliers to ensure compliance to our policies and procedures and technical vendors to support compliance
  • Working with customers on quality related issues

What you need to know about this position

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Food Safety team strategy to ensure the implementation, compliance, and sustainability of Mondelez's Quality and Food Safety programs and policies (HACCP, microbiology program, foreign material management, food defense, etc.).
  • Lead GMP and Food Safety culture activities at the plant through campaigns, trainings, diagnostics, and Gemba Walks.
  • Lead compliance with Sanitation and Integrated Pest Management programs, with proposals for innovation, optimization, and automation.
  • Lead compliance with the internal and external Food Safety audit plan: HACCP, FSSC 22000, regulatory visits, etc.
  • Lead the management of consumer and customer complaint reduction/eradication through the Consumer Focus SWP.
  • Participate as a member within the IL6S pillars: Quality Pillar and PM Pillar. Use of RCA analysis tools, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, 12-Step Kaizen.
  • Participation in new projects and innovations.

Job specific requirements

  • The person in charge of this position will be a change agent, influencing and ensuring communication with all areas, peers, direct reports, and leaders, building teams under a shared vision, driving change and continuous improvement to achieve excellence standards in quality and food safety.
  • Degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • English proficiency – Fluent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in people management and experience in Quality and/or Food Safety.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes: TPM, IWS, IL6S, Six Sigma.
  • FSSC 22000 certifications and food safety-related standards.
  • Work schedule: central shift, 100% on site
