Job Description

Role purpose

The Senior Marketing Manager leads Visa Taiwan's consumer sponsorship and partnership agenda, developing and activating passion-led marketing platforms that strengthen brand preference, deepen consumer engagement, create client value and support business growth. The role serves as a strategic bridge across Consumer Marketing, Client Marketing, Product and regional sponsorship teams, transforming Visa's global and local assets into differentiated market solutions and commercially impactful programs.

Role at a glance: Build the brand through passion-led marketing, secure and activate high-quality partnerships, and create scalable client propositions across consumer and client marketing.

What you will do

Sponsorships, partnerships and passion-led marketing

  • Own the strategy and build a prioritized Taiwan pipeline of sponsorship and partnership opportunities across Visa passion pillars such as sports, music, gaming, fashion and lifestyle, aligned with local consumer relevance and regional or global platforms.
  • Set the evaluation approach and assess opportunities through a balanced “triple win” lens: brand impact, client value and product or payment growth. Develop clear recommendations, business cases, activation plans and success measures.
  • Lead relationships with rights holders, talent partners, merchants, platforms, agencies and other ecosystem partners, including prospecting, due diligence, rights scoping, negotiation support, contracting coordination and ongoing partner management.
  • Translate sponsorship rights into differentiated, culturally relevant experiences and content, including exclusive access, cardholder privileges and “money-can’t-buy” moments that deepen affinity and encourage engagement and usage.
  • Partner with Asia Pacific, regional and global sponsorship teams to localize marquee platforms, identify Taiwan-relevant opportunities, share best practices and ensure disciplined rights activation and governance.

Consumer marketing and brand building

  • Lead passion pillar driven end-to-end integrated marketing campaigns, from strategy and brief development through creative, media, activation, optimization and post-campaign evaluation across ATL, BTL, digital, social, experiential and owned channels.
  • Act as a brand steward for Taiwan, ensuring public-facing marketing materials, partner executions and client communications comply with Visa brand standards and deliver a consistent, premium consumer experience.
  • Apply consumer, cultural, media and performance insights to improve creative effectiveness, channel choices, audience strategy and campaign outcomes.

Client marketing and commercialization

  • Connect consumer marketing and sponsorship assets to client priorities, helping issuers, fintechs', merchants and strategic partners create differentiated propositions for acquisition, activation, engagement, usage and loyalty.
  • Work closely with Client Marketing, Marketing, Product, Sales, VCA and other cross-functional teams to shape integrated client solutions that combine insight, strategy, creative, media, experiential activation and partnership assets.
  • Create clear narratives and activation options for client engagement, including bespoke solutions and co-investment approaches that balance client needs, Visa brand objectives and commercial viability.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage sponsorships and partnerships as a growth engine for client marketing services, while maintaining appropriate governance, funding discipline and delivery standards.

Integrated delivery and stakeholder leadership

  • Lead complex, high-visibility projects from brief to completion, establishing clear objectives, workplans, decision points, responsibilities, risk management and stakeholder communication.
  • Influence and align senior stakeholders across Taiwan and Asia Pacific teams, navigating complex cross-market requirements and aligning agencies and internal partners toward shared outcomes.
  • Manage creative, media, experiential and specialist agencies with clear briefs, constructive feedback, performance expectations and accountability for quality, timing and results.
  • Represent Taiwan in relevant regional forums and prepare concise updates, presentations, performance reports and recommendations for market and regional leadership.

Budget, governance and measurement

  • Own campaign and partnership investment planning and manage budgets, forecasts, accruals, purchase orders, receiving, scope changes and vendor documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate partnership and sponsorship contracting processes with Legal, Sourcing, Finance, Risk and relevant control functions, ensuring rights, usage, approvals and obligations are understood and documented.
  • Define KPIs and measurement plans across brand, engagement, client, product and commercial outcomes. Turn results into actionable learning for future investment decisions.
  • Maintain complete records, approvals and documentation in line with internal policies, brand requirements and operational processes.

What success looks like

  • Visa branding shows up consistently and distinctively in Taiwan through culturally relevant, high-quality consumer marketing.
  • Sponsorship and partnership investments are strategically selected, well governed and activated beyond logo visibility.
  • Passion-pillar assets create compelling experiences for consumers and differentiated growth opportunities for clients and partners.
  • Consumer and client marketing plans are connected, with clear objectives, strong cross-functional alignment and measurable outcomes.
  • Programs are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard of brand, operational and partner management excellence.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Essential experience and capabilities

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive marketing experience across consumer brand marketing, sponsorships, partnerships, experiential marketing, client marketing, financial services, technology, retail, entertainment, media or FMCG.
  • Proven track record leading integrated campaigns from strategy through execution and measurement across ATL, BTL, digital, social, media and experiential channels.
  • Hands-on experience developing or activating sponsorships, strategic partnerships, branded experiences, entertainment properties or merchant ecosystems. Experience with rights holders and partnership negotiations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect consumer insight and cultural relevance to commercial and client objectives, and to translate assets into clear propositions and activation plans.
  • Strong project management, agency leadership, stakeholder coordination, budget management and analytical skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and senior stakeholder influencing skills in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex ideas clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

Ways of working

  • Consumer- and client-obsessed, with strong business judgment and curiosity about culture, entertainment, commerce and payments.
  • Proactive owner who is comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Collaborative as a team player who builds trust across functions, markets, agencies and external partners.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, competing priorities and complex stakeholder environments while maintaining momentum and quality.
  • Commercially minded, data-informed and disciplined in governance, with an eye for creative excellence and premium brand experiences.
  • Flexible and resilient, with a practical can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Suggested performance outcomes for the first 12 months

  • Establish a prioritized Taiwan sponsorship and partnership pipeline with clear strategic criteria, activation pathways and ownership.
  • Deliver integrated consumer campaigns that use passion-led assets to strengthen brand relevance and preference among priority audiences.
  • Create at least one repeatable client activation framework that packages consumer-facing assets into a differentiated client marketing proposition.
  • Improve planning discipline through clear calendars, decision gates, budget visibility, rights tracking and post-campaign learning.
  • Build trusted working relationships with key internal stakeholders, agencies, rights holders, and client partners.
