Job Description

As a Software Engineer III – Cybersecurity Engineering & AI, you will design, develop, and support secure software solutions that modernize cybersecurity operations and enable intelligent automation across the global cybersecurity organization.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies to build scalable applications, workflow automations, agent-driven solutions, and data integrations that improve security operations, eliminate manual effort, and accelerate decision-making.

Working closely with cybersecurity architects, cyber defense teams, identity teams, product security, and risk management stakeholders, you will develop software solutions that are secure by design, cloud-native, and aligned with enterprise governance requirements.

This role is ideal for a highly technical engineer passionate about secure software development, AI-enabled engineering, and solving complex cybersecurity challenges through automation and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain secure software applications, APIs, and automation solutions supporting cybersecurity operations.
  • Build scalable backend services and integrations that connect cybersecurity platforms, cloud services, and enterprise systems.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture discussions to ensure maintainable and high-quality solutions.
  • Apply modern engineering practices including test automation, code quality controls, and continuous integration.

Cybersecurity Engineering

  • Develop software in accordance with secure coding principles, OWASP guidance, and Honeywell cybersecurity standards.
  • Participate in threat modeling exercises and security reviews during design and development activities.
  • Support remediation of vulnerabilities identified through application security testing and code scanning tools.
  • Ensure security controls are incorporated throughout the software development lifecycle.

AI and Automation

  • Develop AI-powered applications, intelligent workflows, and agent-based solutions that improve cybersecurity productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Leverage modern AI frameworks, APIs, and large language model technologies to automate repetitive cybersecurity tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to identify opportunities for AI-enabled innovation.
  • Assist in evaluating emerging AI technologies and their applicability to enterprise cybersecurity use cases.

DevSecOps & CI/CD

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and enterprise development platforms.
  • Support automated testing, deployment, and security validation processes.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation capabilities to improve consistency and reliability.
  • Maintain development standards for source control, branching strategies, and release management.

Cloud Engineering

  • Build cloud-native applications utilizing Azure and enterprise cloud services.
  • Develop solutions using APIs, containerization technologies, managed services, and serverless architectures where appropriate.
  • Ensure applications meet enterprise scalability, reliability, monitoring, and compliance requirements.
  • Support observability through logging, telemetry, performance monitoring, and alerting capabilities.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with cybersecurity engineers, architects, and operations teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Demonstrate Honeywell behaviors, including Win Together, by building trusted partnerships across engineering and cybersecurity teams.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in CyberSecurity domain.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, React.JS.
  • Experience in building AI Agents using LangGraph, LangChain, Python, CrewAI. AI Agent Development using Python, LLMs (GPT/ Claude/ Gemini), Agent Frameworks (Semantic Kernel/ LangGraph/ AutoGen/ CrewAI), RAG, Vector Databases (PGvector, Snowflake, Azure AI Search/ Pinecone/ Weaviate/ Chroma), MCP, Prompt Engineering, Tool Calling & Function Calling, Multi-Agent Systems, Azure AI Foundry/OpenAI, API Integration, Evaluation & Observability, GitHub Actions (MLOps/LLMOps), Responsible AI & Security.
  • Experience in leveraging Modern Database & Data warehouses (Databricks, Snowflake, Cosmos [Graph DBs])
  • Experience building and supporting enterprise software applications and APIs.
  • Experience with GitHub, source control management, and CI/CD practices.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and application security fundamentals.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline.

WE VALUE

  • Experience developing cybersecurity-focused applications or automation solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience building AI, machine learning, generative AI, or LLM-enabled applications.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, and vulnerability management practices.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Security certifications such as Security+, AZ-500, CSSLP, CEH, or equivalent.
