About The Role
Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position manages the configuration and maintenance of complex Dedicated Contracted Services (DCS) and/or Final Mile Services (FMS) accounts within designated systems to enable accurate driver payroll and customer invoicing. The incumbent interprets customer contracts and requirements to solve for customized structures, execute driver payroll, and maintain data integrity. This role applies knowledge of system functionality to investigate processing issues and evaluate interdependencies while contributing to reporting and auditing needs.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain customer accounts within designated systems by establishing account attributes, billing and pay rules, board and fleet codes, driver associations, and other contract-driven parameters to support accurate operational processing, driver compensation, and customer billing; work closely with senior team members to troubleshoot and resolve intricate requirements
- Interpret customer contracts, requests, and supporting documentation to determine necessary system configurations, validate the information provided, and confirm setup activities align with contractual specifications, operational needs, and system capabilities
- Process, validate, and maintain large datasets related to account, billing, and driver pay across multiple interconnected tables and system components, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accurate outputs
- Apply analytical thinking and refined knowledge to evaluate system relationships, data dependencies, and downstream impacts when implementing customized account setups, revisions, and other adjustments, identifying potential complications while promoting stability in operational and financial processes
- Investigate and resolve more complex and non-routine account, billing, pay, and system processing issues through utilizing queries, reports, and experience-based judgment to identify root causes, test new solutions, validate corrections, and restore expected functionality; coordinate technical support for matters requiring back-end intervention when necessary
- Initiate and execute driver payroll administration by managing pay plan configurations, coordinating with operations to determine readiness, confirming dispatch edits are complete, certifying order and dispatch data inputs, and ensuring new hires, transfers, and account changes are correctly configured prior to payroll processing
- Coordinate with internal teams, such as Operations, Accounting, and Engineering and Technology, to gather information, clarify requirements, resolve issues, secure required approvals, and support implementation of account setups and revisions within designated systems; provide training and mentorship to junior team members as needed
- Extract, analyze, and validate data, reports, and exception results to identify variances, resolve discrepancies, support audits, and maintain overall data integrity; monitor data dependencies and system interactions that rely on outputs for accuracy
- Apply and administer payroll adjustments, including one-time payments, reimbursements, bonuses, and corrections, ensuring all modifications are accurately documented and included in the appropriate pay cycle
- Facilitate bids for a subset of customers requiring specialized invoicing by converting external files into a standard format to input into our internal pricing platform and translating proposed rates back into the customer's format with all required documents to ensure the company is considered for the customer's award; manage internal publications across systems and reoccurring uploads to customer's applications related to rates, accessorials, and fuel programs
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of related experience in payroll administration, data analytics/management, fleet operations, account management, or systems configuration within the transportation/logistics industry, and/or military equivalent
AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
- Ability to use a logical approach to derive a sound conclusion from ambiguous ideas
- Skilled in collecting, evaluating, and synthesizing information to identify trends, assess impacts, and develop recommendations
- Demonstration of strong self-motivation, initiative, persistence, and a results-oriented mindset
- Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
- Ability to maintain focus on detailed work and produce accurate, high-quality results
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Accounting, or related field with 2 years of related experience in payroll administration, data analytics/management, fleet operations, account management, systems configuration within the transportation/logistics industry and/or military equivalent
- Experience with driver payroll systems and transportation operations
- Experience in DCS and/or FMS business units
- Understanding of transportation account contract terms and driver pay plan structures
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of approaches and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operations or process problems
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel (independently employ Xlookups/Vlookups, If/Then statements, PivotTables)
- Experience with SQL

Compensation
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
