About the Role
The Patient Engagement & Advocacy (PEA) Manager enables the Endocrinology PEA team to operate efficiently, consistently, and at scale. Reporting to the Senior Director, Endocrinology PEA, this role leads operational planning and execution across assigned therapeutic programs and brands while improving the systems, processes, tools, and governance that support high-quality patient engagement & advocacy.
Working closely with the Endocrinology PEA team and cross-functional partners, this role coordinates operational execution while helping build the systems and processes needed to support Neurocrine's growing Endocrinology portfolio. The Manager serves as the operational backbone of the team, ensuring patient engagement & advocacy activities are executed seamlessly while continuously improving how the organization plans, collaborates, and delivers value. _
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
Operational Planning & Execution
- Lead operational planning and execution for patient engagement activities across assigned therapeutic programs and brands
- Coordinate end-to-end operational execution for advisory meetings, patient and caregiver engagement activities, headquarters visits, conferences, sponsorships, memberships, and other strategic initiatives, working closely with external agencies and vendors to ensure seamless execution
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, annual calendars, dashboards, and operational trackers supporting the Endocrinology PEA team
Program & Portfolio Operations
- Coordinate participant recruitment, contracting, travel logistics, meeting logistics, materials, invoicing, and follow-up activities for advisory boards and other patient engagement initiatives, partnering closely with external agencies and internal stakeholders
- Monitor operational progress across the portfolio, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities to improve execution while supporting portfolio planning and organizational decision making
- Maintain operational resources, templates, knowledge repositories, and reporting tools that support consistent execution across the Endocrinology PEA team
Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate operational planning with Patient Marketing, Field Medical Marketing, Sales, Field Medical, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams supporting patient engagement activities
- Partner with the Endocrinology PEA team to plan, coordinate, and execute patient engagement activities across assigned therapeutic programs and brands
- Coordinate Neurocrine participation in patient advocacy events and ensure clear communication and alignment across participating internal and external stakeholders
Operational Excellence
- Improve processes, templates, tools, governance, and workflows that increase consistency, efficiency, scalability, and organizational effectiveness across the Endocrinology PEA team
- Identify opportunities to simplify work, reduce administrative burden, and implement continuous process improvements that enhance team performance.
- Evaluate and implement best practices that strengthen operational capabilities and support future organizational growth
Technology & AI
- Identify and implement technology solutions that improve planning, collaboration, reporting, knowledge management, and operational effectiveness
- Champion the responsible use of AI and other digital tools to improve productivity, streamline routine work, and strengthen organizational capabilities
Financial & Business Management
- Serve as the primary operational lead for agencies, vendors, and service providers supporting PEA activities, coordinating operational planning, meeting logistics, travel, contracting, invoicing, budgeting, and other execution activities
- Coordinate operational budgets, sponsorship payments, purchase requests, contracts, invoices, and other administrative activities supporting the Endocrinology PEA team
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
Leadership
- Support onboarding of new team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma with 10+ years of combined relevant education and experience; OR
- BS/BA degree in Business, Economics, Communications, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, a patient advocacy organization, or a healthcare consulting, communications, or patient engagement agency is strongly preferred
- Experience supporting patient engagement, patient advocacy, medical affairs, commercial operations, corporate affairs, or similar functions
- Experience coordinating advisory boards, conferences, stakeholder meetings, or other complex external engagements
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, invoices, vendors, and project tracking.
- Broad understanding of the drug development and commercialization process preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong operational planning skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex cross-functional projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively without formal authority

- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and implement practical solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms; experience using AI and digital productivity tools preferred
- Understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry and commitment to compliant patient engagement
- Approximately 10-20% travel, including occasional evenings and weekends

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $132,700.00-$182,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
