Geisinger is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our Hospital Medicine team as a Nocturnist at Geisinger Mount Nittany Medical Center (MNMC) in State College, Pennsylvania. Our growing team provides high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care in a collaborative environment supported by specialty consultants, advanced practitioners and experienced nursing staff.

Located in beautiful Happy Valley, Geisinger Mount Nittany Medical Center is a 260-bed acute care hospital serving central Pennsylvania. The facility offers comprehensive medical, surgical and diagnostic services and is supported by more than 60 specialties and subspecialties. Hospitalists play a vital role in coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Job Duties

Dedicated nocturnist schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
24 clinical weeks per year
Block scheduling designed to support work-life balance
Inpatient-only practice
Average daily census of 15-18 patients with Advanced Practitioner support
Open ICU model with Critical Care specialists available for consultation and management
No procedures required, though procedural opportunities are available
Robust specialty support including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Nephrology, Rheumatology, General Surgery, Urology and Psychiatry
Collaborative team environment with four daytime rounding teams, one admitting team and multiple advanced practitioners

Education

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)

Experience
