HSE Capability Development Advisor TSUK

What you will do

To provide a professional capability development and training delivery service to TSUK regarding to aid with upskilling organisational competence in matters relating to health, safety and environment to help enable both adherence to legislative compliance obligations and delivery within Tata Steel.

  • Deliver high-quality Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) training programmes to support legal compliance, workforce competence and TSUK SHE strategy objectives.
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver internal HSE training courses, including foundation-level safety training across TSUK sites.
  • Support the development and implementation of HSE competency frameworks, role profiles and competence development programmes.
  • Develop, review and maintain training materials, lesson plans and e-learning content to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources and subject matter expert involvement to ensure effective delivery of annual HSE training plans.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments and stakeholder engagement, implementing continuous improvements to training content and delivery methods.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through the delivery of behavioural and leadership-based HSE programmes and initiatives.
  • Maintain training records, document control and course materials within relevant document management systems.
  • Support the delivery of HSSE campaigns, webinars and improvement initiatives, ensuring training and competence requirements are effectively embedded.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to identify learning needs and enhance HSE performance.
  • Deliver training both in person across TSUK sites and virtually through digital learning platforms.
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes, industry standards and best practice to ensure training programmes remain current and effective.

What you will need

Preferred Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (essential), with higher-level HSE qualifications desirable.
  • ISEP (IEMA) Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management, or working towards achieving the qualification.
  • Formal training or teaching qualification, such as Train the Trainer, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent.

Professional Memberships

  • Professional membership of IOSH and/or ISEP (IEMA) preferred.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience delivering health, safety and environmental training to a range of audiences.
  • Knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing, reviewing and maintaining training materials, lesson plans and e-learning content.
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and employees at all levels.
  • Experience supporting competency frameworks, training programmes and safety culture initiatives.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills, both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple training activities and priorities.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice.
