Job Description

GE Aerospace is seeking a Shop Supply Planner to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials from suppliers and within internal departments to support production schedules in our sub-assembly shop. This role is critical to ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support site operations and downstream engine assembly sites.

This position is ideal for a supply chain professional who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment, can balance daily execution with longer-term priorities, and is comfortable working across planning, sourcing, fulfillment, inventory, and shop operations. The role offers moderate autonomy and requires strong judgment, problem solving, and collaboration across multiple teams.

This is a highly visible role with exposure across multiple supply chain functions. The successful candidate will play a key part in helping the Terre Haute site improve material availability, inventory performance, and operational execution while contributing to a major Flight Deck transformation journey .

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage material schedules, part-level planning details, and system parameters to support production needs and optimize inventory
  • Prepare and update production schedules, purchasing requirements, and master planning inputs
  • Coordinate with suppliers, sourcing, fulfillment leaders, delivery teams, and internal planning teams to maintain material flow and improve on-time delivery
  • Identify and resolve input material shortages and supplier delivery gaps, partnering with sourcing on delivery and quality performance issues
  • Support inventory control and ensure operational alignment with production plans and key performance indicators
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning and material processes, including support for the site’s Flight Deck transformation
  • Work across both shop floor and desk-based activities, serving as a key supplier-facing point of contact for the shop
  • Help advance transformation efforts as the site moves toward 100% bill of materials on pull

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years materials, production planning, sourcing or supply chain operations experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years materials, production planning, sourcing or supply chain operations experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Supply chain planning experience preferred
  • CPIM certification or training preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across functions and influence stakeholders
  • Understanding of Lean concepts and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable operating with structure where it exists, while also adapting to non-standard work in a transforming environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use judgment, ask the right questions, and make sound decisions with guidance when needed
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to provide informal leadership and influence small teams
  • Humble, transparent, focused, and eager to learn
  • Self-directed and motivated to deliver results without close day-to-day oversight
