As a sales & service subsidiary of a multi-billion-dollar global company with 70+ locations, we are responsible for our Laser Technology Division in North America. Our future Business Management Intern will work closely with different departments such as Sales, Product & Project Management, Technical Service, and Applications. Our future intern will be learning and supporting different industrial controls processes such as laser safety system, pneumatic systems, and fieldbus systems , etc. while gaining insight into the interesting world of industrial laser manufacturing. With the guidance of experienced professionals, this internship is an ideal opportunity for students to grow.

Internship Duration: Onsite in Plymouth, MI from January 2027 - August 2027 At least 24 hours weekly

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

The internship involves Engineering related duties providing the intern the advantage of acquiring controls, robotic, and laser processing skills and experience.

  • Implementing process improvements in our Laser Application center including:
  • Standardized Pneumatic controls system
  • Updating and documenting Laser Safety Controls System
  • Developing Controls test systems
  • Supporting the development of standardize laser product demonstrations
  • Supporting Applications team on robotics and Control topics during application development
  • Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
  • Adhere to all company guidelines

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, mechatronics, electronics or other related field
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience Programming/coding, schooling or work environment required
  • PLC or other embedded programming experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
