About this role
The people advisor role is purposed to provide responsive, practical people related advice to people managers, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies while managing day to day employee matters and building manager capability to prevent and resolve issues effectively.
You will be responsible for
- People Manager Advisory & First-Line Coaching
Provide timely, practical guidance and coaching to people managers on employee matters, building confidence in handling day-to-d/ay people issues.
- Case Management
Manage individual employee cases (informal and formal) up to defined complexity, ensuring consistency, documentation, and appropriate escalation to or consultation with specialized ER resources when required.
- Support People-related Change Initiatives
- Support the HR Business Partners with the local execution of business change requirements leveraging local expertise and knowledge.
- Implementation of (new) global tools and programmes developed through our COEs within each of our geographies with local nuances as required.
- Employee Lifecycle Advisory (Performance, Absence, Exit)
- Support managers on sick absence management, PIPs, and standard redundancy/exit processes, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Advise on non-standard or complex policy application queries, ensuring compliant and consistent application and issue resolution; escalate risks or exceptions appropriately.
- Insights, Prevention & Manager Capability Build
Identify trends from cases, bring local insights to inform process improvements; support delivery of people manager capability build and guidance
Key Competencies Required
- Employee Relations & Policy Expertise - Solid understanding of HR policies and processes; applies them consistently and pragmatically to real situations.
- Advisory & Coaching Skills - Communicates clearly and confidently; provides practical, solutions-focused guidance to managers.
- Judgement, Risk Awareness & Execution Discipline - Applies sound judgement in handling cases, knows when to escalate, and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant execution.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- HR Advisory & Employee Relations: Proven experience providing practical HR advice, build strong partnership with the business and sensitively managing employee relations matters (e.g., performance, conduct, absence) through to resolution.
- Policy Application & Manager Coaching: Strong track record of applying policies consistently and fairly, sound judgment on nuances where required, while building people manager capability to handle people-related matters effectively.
- Operational HR Delivery: Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering responsive, high-quality day-to-day HR support.
