We're looking for an Electrical Survey Engineer to provide electrical engineering survey and technical support across a wide range of water and wastewater assets. You'll play a key role in project development by delivering high-quality surveys, assessments, testing and technical recommendations that help ensure projects are safe, compliant, efficient and buildable.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys combining site-based engineering expertise with project support and technical problem-solving.

What you'll be doing

Working within our Engineering team and reporting to the Electrical Discipline Head, you'll

  • Carry out electrical surveys, inspections, assessments and technical investigations across operational sites.
  • Produce survey reports, schedules, data sheets, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Assess the condition, capacity, suitability and compliance of existing electrical assets and infrastructure.
  • Identify operational, safety and asset risks and recommend appropriate solutions and improvements.
  • Support project teams during feasibility, optioneering and project development stages.
  • Assist with developing project scopes, engineering briefs and technical solutions.
  • Review electrical documentation and verify accuracy against site conditions.
  • Work closely with suppliers and support technical bid evaluations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, site supervisors, project teams and operational stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
  • Promote safe working practices and support continuous SHEQ improvement.

What you'll bring

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar electrical engineering or survey role.
  • BS7671 18th Edition qualification.
  • CSCS-affiliated Electrical Supervisor Card.
  • Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge and experience
  • Good understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, panel drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong IT and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to embrace new technologies and ways of working.

Desirable

  • Test & Inspection qualification (2394/2395 or 2391).
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
  • Knowledge of WIMES (Water Industry Mechanical & Electrical Specifications).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
