Sourcing Project Manager

About The Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. The Project Manager will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project.
General Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Develops comprehensive project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training, and status reports
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
- Regularly communicates and presents project schedules, statuses, and updates to various team members and bringing solutions/opportunities
- Track and update changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Assists in performing risk management to minimize project risks
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead sourcing projects from initiation through qualification, trial production, and mass-production delivery, ensuring cost, quality, timing, and project requirements are achieved.
- Own the sourcing workstream, including supplier identification, quotation management, price and cost analysis, supplier quality readiness, risk tracking, and milestone delivery.
- Coordinate closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Program Management, Engineering, New Product/Process Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams.
- Lead regular project reviews with global and regional stakeholders, communicate status and risks clearly, drive issue resolution, and escalate when required.
- Apply structured project and supplier qualification methods appropriate to the relevant industry, including APQP/PPAP/FMEA or equivalent processes where applicable
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in sourcing, project purchasing, procurement project management, supplier development, NPI sourcing, or a comparable cross-functional project role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in automotive is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant backgrounds may include industrial products, electrical equipment, power tools, home appliances, or consumer electronics.
- Practical experience with supplier sourcing, RFQs, price and cost evaluation, supplier selection, qualification, and launch or change implementation.
- Experience in cost-reduction, value analysis/value engineering, localization, resourcing, material change, or design-change projects is highly desirable, particularly for UCR assignments.
- Knowledge of common manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, assembly, and related supplier processes is preferred.
- An engineering or other technical background is preferred, with the ability to understand product, design, material, process, quality, and cost trade-offs.
- Fluent spoken and written English is required, including the ability to participate actively in international meetings, communicate directly with global stakeholders, and present project updates.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams in a matrix organization without direct reports.
- PMP certification is beneficial but not required.
