We’re searching for a Receiving Clerk to support the efficient and accurate receiving of goods and supplies, ensuring all deliveries meet the hotel’s quality, quantity, and documentation requirements at Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be

  • ● Receiving all incoming goods and supplies delivered to the hotel and ensuring they are handled in accordance with established procedures
  • ● Checking deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and other relevant documentation to verify quantity, quality, and specifications
  • ● Inspecting food, beverages, operating supplies, equipment, and other goods for quality, freshness, condition, quantity, and expiry dates where applicable
  • ● Identifying damaged, incorrect, short, or excess deliveries and promptly reporting discrepancies to the relevant departments and suppliers
  • ● Ensuring all received goods are accurately recorded in the hotel’s receiving and inventory systems
  • ● Preparing and maintaining receiving records, goods receiving notes, delivery documentation, and other required reports
  • ● Coordinating closely with Purchasing, Cost Control, Finance, Stores, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods
  • ● Ensuring perishable items are handled promptly and stored under appropriate temperature and hygiene conditions
  • ● Checking temperatures and other quality requirements for food and beverage deliveries in accordance with hotel standards
  • ● Ensuring received items are transferred to the appropriate storage areas or departments in a timely and organized manner
  • ● Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety of the receiving area, loading area, and related storage spaces
  • ● Monitoring and maintaining proper documentation for returned goods, rejected deliveries, and supplier discrepancies
  • ● Assisting with stock counts and inventory checks to support accurate inventory records and control
  • ● Ensuring proper handling and security of goods from the time of receipt until they are transferred to the relevant storage or operational area
  • ● Following hotel purchasing, receiving, food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and internal control procedures at all times
  • ● Supporting the Finance and Cost Control teams with documentation and information required for daily and periodic reporting

What We need from you

  • ● Diploma or higher education qualification in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • ● Minimum 1–3 years of experience in receiving, stores, inventory, purchasing, or a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment
  • ● Basic understanding of hotel receiving, purchasing, inventory, and stores procedures
  • ● Good numerical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • ● Ability to check quantities, specifications, prices, expiry dates, and quality of goods against supporting documentation
  • ● Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal departments
  • ● Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with hotel inventory or purchasing systems preferred
  • ● Ability to identify discrepancies and follow up promptly to ensure accurate receiving records
  • ● Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, storage, and handling requirements preferred
  • ● Strong integrity and commitment to accurate documentation and internal control procedures
  • ● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment and manage multiple deliveries and priorities
