The Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) will support CooperSurgical’s Fertility & Genomics business by providing clinical expertise, training, and technical support to customers, internal teams, and channel partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring superior customer experience, strengthening product adoption, and driving clinical excellence across IVF centers.

Job Summary

The CAS is responsible for planning and delivering structured customer trainings, supporting clinical onboarding of new products and protocols, and serving as the technical point of contact for all embryology‑related queries. The position also contributes to marketing initiatives, customer education, and capability building for Sales, Service, and channel partners.

This role plays a key part in differentiating CooperSurgical through knowledge leadership and high-quality clinical engagement

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

A. Training & Capability Development

  • Conduct regular, calendarized training programs at the CSI Mumbai/ GGN School of Embryology .
  • Facilitate external trainings for customers (basic embryology, ICSI, vitrification, etc.).
  • Deliver technical and product trainings for internal Sales, Service, and Channel Partners.
  • Assist in designing new modules (e.g., biopsy, advanced embryology practices).

B. Customer Support & Clinical Expertise

  • Act as the primary technical expert for Origio products and protocols.
  • Support key and new IVF centers with protocol setup, product induction, and troubleshooting.
  • Handle customer queries via phone, email, or on-site visits.
  • Conduct lab reviews as per CooperSurgical SOPs to maintain high compliance standards.

C. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing to execute clinical and scientific activities.
  • Provide competitor insights, technical comparisons, and updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Support commercial teams with demos, customer engagements, and scientific discussions.

D. Documentation & Continuous Learning

  • Maintain accurate reports on trainings, customer visits, and clinical activities.
  • Stay updated on the latest clinical data, products, and reproductive science advancements.

Travel

  • High willingness to travel across the country.
  • With this role travel expectations are a minimum of 40-50%.

Master’s or Doctorate in Science , preferably Reproductive Biology , Clinical Embryology, Biotechnology, or related fields

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years hands‑on experience as an Embryologist .
  • Minimum 1 year experience in med‑tech, IVF, or customer‑facing clinical support roles (preferred).
  • Experience with ICSI, vitrification, Biopsy and common ART techniques strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of embryology, ART practices, and IVF workflow.
  • Familiarity with origination, culture media, ART devices, and lab quality standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot clinical protocols and product‑related queries.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset and relationship building capability.
  • Problem‑solving orientation with ability to handle complex technical discussions.
  • Ability to train diverse groups (clinicians, embryologists, sales teams).

Abilities

  • Highly organized with ability to plan and deliver multiple trainings.
  • Self‑driven, with ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in fast‑paced environments.
  • Comfortable with travel and frequent customer interactions.
