About The Role

Join Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN as a Mechanical Design Engineer and play a key role in shaping innovative, high-performance electromechanical solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage advanced 2D and 3D CAD tools, and support both new product development and ongoing product improvements. How you'll make an impact

Perform engineering tasks including analysis, design, development, testing, and installation support

Interpret and work from drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials

Develop 2D and 3D CAD models for prototypes, production, and retrofit builds

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet application requirements

Investigate technical issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Support customer orders, product improvements, and field troubleshooting activities

Assist in preparing technical documentation, specifications, and approvals

Contribute to improving product design, performance, and reliability

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field

2+ years of relevant engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., Creo/Pro-E or similar) preferred

Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) is a plus

Exposure to electromechanical product design is desirable

Knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and best practices
