About The Role
Summary
A Test Engineering Manager leads a test engineering functional group for sustaining ISG production products. This role is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving final test solutions from product launch through end of life to ensure achievement of quality, yield, cost, reliability, and customer satisfaction objectives.
The manager provides technical and organizational leadership for production test operations, driving resolution of manufacturing excursions, yield issues, customer quality concerns, and product performance challenges across internal and external manufacturing sites. The role serves as the primary interface between Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, and external manufacturing partners to ensure stable and efficient production operations.
Responsibilities
- Production Test: Continuously improve final test solutions for released ISG products, ensuring production test quality, yield, throughput, cost, program integrity, and governed release/change control across manufacturing locations.
- Yield Improvement and Cost Reduction: Lead data-driven yield, test-cost, retest, escape, and test-time improvement initiatives by applying statistical analysis and best-known manufacturing methods.
- Manufacturing Support: Serve as the technical escalation lead for final test manufacturing issues, driving containment, recovery, operational improvement, and rapid closure of production-limiting disruptions.
- Quality: Support test-related quality investigations, containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer compliance efforts to reduce field failures, returns, excursions, and outgoing quality risk.
- External Manufacturing: Support audits, qualifications, transfers, capacity expansions, supplier performance improvements, test standardization, and maintain key subcontractor relationships.
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of test engineering experience; 5+ years of technical leadership or people management.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Experience programming in high level languages (C++, Visual Basic, Python).
- Demonstrated experience supporting high-volume manufacturing.
- Proven track record leading yield improvement and manufacturing support activities.
- Experience working with global teams and external manufacturing partners.
Preferred Experience
- Automotive CMOS image sensor production test experience using Teradyne IP750 platforms.
- Experience with image quality, functional, and parametric test methodologies.
- Knowledge of failure analysis (FA), 8D, root cause and corrective action (RCCA), and customer quality.
- Experience supporting outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) operations.
- Familiarity with statistical process control, design of experiments, yield modeling, and manufacturing analytics.
