About The Role
Job Description Summary As the EHS Specialist, you'll be responsible for protecting people, assets, and operations by applying structured safety and environmental practices to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures. The role supports embedding safety into daily operations, projects, and processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance. Job Description Responsibilities Conduct risk assessments and implement effective hazard control measures using practical and engineering solutions Provide day-to-day EHS support across operations, quality, warehousing, and construction activities Ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation, permits, and standards Support safe systems of work, including permit-to-work and high-risk activities Contribute to the development and maintenance of EHS and Environmental Management Systems (ISO standards) Monitor environmental aspects such as emissions, wastewater, waste management, and resource use Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions Conduct EHS inspections, audits, and track performance metrics to drive improvement Deliver EHS training and promote a strong safety and environmental culture Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into operations and projects Qualifications and requirements Third level qualification (minimum NFQ 8) in EHS, Engineering, or Science discipline or equivalent Strong experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Knowledge of risk assessments and EHS management systems Experience supporting regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives Familiarity with regulatory bodies (e.g., HSA, EPA, local authorities) Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Key Competencies Practical problem solving and risk awareness Good technical understanding of safety and environmental systems Strong communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and organizational ability Continuous improvement mindset Inclusion and Diversity GE HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
