Job Description
In this role, you’ll play a key part in providing high-quality athletic training and rehabilitation services while building meaningful relationships with student athletes, coaches, Athletic Directors, parents, physicians, and healthcare teams throughout Lancaster and Chester counties .
What You'll Do
- Evaluate athletes and develop, direct, and administer individualized athletic training and rehabilitation programs.
- Conduct athlete intake assessments and maintain accurate medical records in the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate athlete schedules, treatment plans, and follow-up care in collaboration with the Sports Medicine Coordinator.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other clinical disciplines to ensure seamless, coordinated care.
- Build trust and serve as a MUSC Health brand ambassador with coaching staffs, Athletic Directors, student athletes, and parents.
- Identify healthcare concerns and recommend appropriate solutions to support athlete health, safety, and performance.
- Attend practices, games, tournaments, and special events as needed.
- Participate in annual conferences and MUSC Health staff meetings.
- Assist with departmental operations, including budgets, supply restocking, inventory, and other clerical responsibilities.
- Provide coverage throughout Lancaster and Chester counties based on organizational needs.
Additional Job Description
What We're Looking For
Education
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) .
- Master's degree in Athletic Training preferred.
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
Licensure & Certification
- Current Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC) certification.
- Current certification/licensure as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina through DHEC .

Schedule & Availability
This is a PRN, as-needed position . Flexibility is essential, with availability to provide coverage for
- Practices and games
- Tournaments and competitions
- Special athletic events
- Evening coverage
- Weekend coverage
- Assignments throughout Lancaster and Chester counties
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can adapt verbal and non-verbal communication to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals, from school-age adolescents and adults to other healthcare professionals.
