Make your mark in Finance

Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

How you will make an impact

AIG’s S ummer I nterns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. During the 9 -week program , y ou will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge , work ing with leaders on dynamic projects, with plenty of opportunity for challenges, learning and achievement.

S ummer I nterns join one of our key business teams , which offers a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment. In addition to meaningful on-the-job experiences , interns will join instructor - led masterclasses, hear directly from senior leaders, and build meaningful connections through mentoring circles, networking events and volunteering.

Following completion of the internship program, interns may be considered for a role in the location where they completed their internship, with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028 .

Responsibilities

The Finance function consists of a variety of teams with an array of responsibilities, including Financial Planning and Analysis, Controllership, Tax, Accounting, Operations, Data Management, and Treasury.

Example Finance responsibilities may include

  • Provide key reporting and analytics support, review business performance, drive planning and forecasting efforts, and build operating budgets
  • Perform controllership activities that deliver required AIG consolidated financial reporting, provide tax advisory, planning, accounting, compliance, and analytics for all types of taxes
  • Improve financial management systems and information, contribute to process improvement or savings initiatives, and participate in finance projects
  • Develop and update reports on capital, forecast, cash flows, funding and liquidity, review business metrics and perform competitive intelligence

After initial orientation and training, summer interns will join one of our finance teams, which offer a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse and global environment. In addition to the experience acquired on the job, summer interns have the opportunity to hear directly from senior management, and participate in webinars, discussion forums and networking receptions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application).

Program Requirements

  • Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
  • Summer Intern positions are in-person opportunities, requiring interns to work in the office at least four days per week.

Core Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred majors include Finance or Accounting.
  • Demonstrated interest in corporate finance and a rotational program environment.
  • Relevant coursework, internship, or other experience in areas such as FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Controllership, Corporate Finance, or Data Management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and an interest in using data and financial information to support business decisions.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular, leadership, or professional activities.
  • Enthusiastic about the Insurance industry

For applicants in Colorado, Jersey City, and New York City the hourly pay range for this position is $ 25.03 - $ 33.37 .
