The Contract Manager will lead Contract Management support in the execution of complex equipment and extended scope, domestic and international Gas Turbine Power Plant Projects.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
The Contract Manager will be a commercial expert in preventing and mitigating high dollar value claims and risks. In this role, you will:
- Risk Mitigation Strategy: Research, develop, and implement strategies to minimize project risk, including conducting pre-award contract analysis and claims mitigation presentations.
- Contractual Lifecycle Management: Drive the execution of Change Orders, contract amendments, and commercial notifications while ensuring timely project documentation and record-keeping.
- Claim Settlement & Negotiation: Research and author claims settlement agreements, negotiate terms with major subcontractors, and lead commercial issue resolution.
- Recovery Management: Pursue insurance and supplier recoveries in collaboration with Sourcing, ensuring all claims are actively negotiated and obtained.
- Time & Delay Claims: Manage EPC-related claims, including pursuing Extensions of Time (EOT) and managing back-charges or rejections.
- Database & System Governance: Maintain accurate tracking databases for risks and recoveries, and manage the Electronic Order Release system (eARS) for project authorizations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and remote teams to ensure timely submission of contractual deliverables and consistent project oversight.
- Customer-Focused Responsiveness: Maintain a high sense of urgency when addressing customer-facing issues, including leading on-site contract analysis.
- Insurance Oversight: Ensure that all assigned projects have the appropriate insurance policies in place and effectively manage policy-related recoveries.
- Operational Flexibility: Support project success through required travel to sites in the US and Latin America and maintain proficiency in remote, cross-functional teamwork.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Management
- Experience in contract administration and project management.
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills
- Claims management experience
- Contract reading and writing experience

- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle many complex issues concurrently
- Advanced skills in contract terms and conditions interpretation and development
- Solid understanding of Business Law fundamentals
- Personal computer and software experience including preparation of complex computer graphics presentations
- Prime contract commercial experience (domestic and international)
- Construction claims negotiation experience
- Developer or EPC Experience, preferably in the Power Industry
- Project Management Leadership Program (PMLP) Graduate
