The Role

The Test Engineer - Maintenance is responsible for ensuring test equipment and testers are reliable, functional, optimized, and capable of meeting product specifications. The role focuses on test equipment control, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvement, and supporting production through technical expertise and training.

What you will be doing

  1. Test Equipment Control & Maintenance
  • Establish and maintain tester capability and functionality.
  • Manage software revisions and tester configurations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on test equipment.
  • Ensure test hardware and equipment operate at optimal performance with minimal downtime.
  • Manage spare parts inventory efficiently.
  • Support transfer, qualification, and implementation of new test equipment and new products.
  1. Technical Support & Problem Solving
  • Develop systematic troubleshooting and debug guides.
  • Provide technical training and consultation to manufacturing teams.
  • Collaborate with software, debug, and product engineers on test solutions.
  • Support tester and board repair activities.
  1. Continuous Improvement
  • Improve test setup ergonomics and operational efficiency through simplification, integration, and automation.
  • Reduce test time and improve tester reliability.
  • Simplify equipment conversion processes.
  • Minimize false rejects and improve tester performance.
  • Conduct Gage R&R and correlation studies to improve testing accuracy and reliability.
  1. Compliance & Safety
  • Monitor tester performance using SPC techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, ESD, Cleanroom, ISO, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Apply Risk-Based Thinking in planning and execution.
  • Authorized to stop any tester that presents quality or safety concerns.

About You

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in:
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Testing environments
  • Testing methodologies
  • Fresh or less-experienced candidates may be considered depending on business needs and available training support.

Technical Skills

  • Good computer literacy.
  • Strong interest in computer hardware engineering.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting desktop hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of equipment Total Control Methodology.
  • Good communication, reporting, and data analysis skills.

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
  • At least 1 year of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience and testing methodologies.
  • Good computer literacy, communication skills, and data reporting abilities.
  • Strong interest in computer hardware engineering.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting desktop software and components.
  • Knowledge of equipment's Total Control Methodology.
