About The Role
Responsibilities / Tasks
The IIoT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions that connect food and beverage processing equipment with cloud-based digital applications and advanced data analytics platforms. This role combines expertise in industrial automation, connectivity, cloud technologies, and data engineering to deliver scalable digital solutions that enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, process optimization, asset performance management, and sustainability initiatives.
This position can be based in Alcobendas (Spain), Naas (Ireland) or Bogota (Colombia) , depending on the selected candidate.
- Integrate Siemens and Rockwell automation systems with cloud-based platforms, including Microsoft Azure, InfluxDB, and Databricks .
- Support the development of digital applications for equipment monitoring, asset performance management, predictive maintenance, energy management, water optimization, and production performance analytics .
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Automation Engineers to define technical requirements.
- Implement edge-to-cloud connectivity solutions for real-time data collection and monitoring.
- Drive the standardization of digital architectures and integration frameworks.
- Ensure IIoT solutions comply with OT cybersecurity standards and industry best practices.
- Implement standardized industrial data models, asset hierarchies, and contextualized data structures.
- Support the development of reusable connectivity and analytics solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of digital products.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering or Computer Science.
Professional Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, IIoT, Cloud Engineering, or Digital Solutions.
- Experience delivering cloud-based software products using Microsoft Azure .
- Experience working with InfluxDB and Databricks for time-series data management, analytics, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems within process or manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments .
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage processes .
- Awareness of IEC 62443 and industrial cybersecurity principles.
- Fluent English (B2/C1) required.
- Spanish or German would be considered a strong advantage.
