As a Cloud Operations Engineer at ZEISS Digital Partners, you will be part of our Zeiss Digital Innovation team and work in a supportive, team-oriented environment that enables the co-design and development of customer-centric digital products. Y our primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of software applications in a cloud environment. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services to support the software application and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Deploy, and maintain cloud-based solutions in collaboration with DevOps Core team and Development teams
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and services
- Implementing monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the availability and performance of the software application and infrastructure
- Respond and resolve incidents issues related to cloud infrastructure, services, and software application, ensuring timely restoration of services
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins etc
- Continuously improve and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with Development team and Security teams to ensure and implement the best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance
- Performing regular maintenance, updates, and patches to the cloud infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Provide 24/7 support
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 3 - 6 Years of relevant experience in Software or Cloud Platform Operations or Cloud Application Operations or Development projects in an agile environment including service management
- In-Depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services, specifically Azure or AWS or other cloud platform
- In-depth knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting and other aspects of application operations
- Hands -on experience using monitoring tools such Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics workspace etc.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Preferred knowledge on common Infrastructure-as-Code tools, specifically Terraform/ARM on Azure
- Preferred knowledge on designing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines with Azure DevOps on Azure.
- Proficient in Linux and typical Unix tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Experience in Azure DevOps, Version Controls Systems like Git
- Experience in Cloud Security Operations
- Excellent communication, collaboration skills, ability to work in a team and a professional attitude
- Willing to work in rotational shifts of 8.5 hours including bank holidays and weekends
