Senior BIM Technician - Maritime

About The Role

To work as part of our Maritime Team, providing CAD/BIM support for marine and waterfront engineering projects. The successful candidate will serve as a BIM Technician within WSP India, based in our Bangalore office, responsible for the development and coordination of BIM models, engineering drawings, and construction documentation for maritime infrastructure projects, including ports, harbours, terminals, coastal, and marine structures. The role will involve supporting multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring the quality and accuracy of BIM deliverables, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects across regions. You can expect to be actively involved in multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating closely with engineers, BIM coordinators, and project stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain BIM/CAD models and engineering drawings for maritime and coastal infrastructure projects using Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
  • Utilize Revit as the primary modelling platform for maritime, waterfront, and infrastructure projects, supporting design development, BIM deliverables, coordination, and visualization workflows.
  • Produce accurate drawings and documentation for ports, harbours, jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, marine terminals, and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Integrate Revit models with BIM and CAD platforms to support multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Support BIM coordination activities, including model federation, clash detection, and design reviews.
  • Ensure BIM models and drawings comply with project standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers, BIM Coordinators, and project teams to resolve design, modelling, and documentation issues.
  • Maintain model quality, naming conventions, coordinate systems, and data integrity across project deliverables.
  • Extract, review, and update drawing packages and documentation from BIM/CAD models.
  • Support quantity take-offs, schedules, and project reporting as required.
  • Incorporate design revisions and respond to RFIs in accordance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the successful delivery of maritime engineering projects.
  • Support the adoption of new digital engineering technologies, workflows, and BIM best practices.
  • Continuously develop technical expertise in Revit, BIM, and maritime infrastructure modelling tools.

Key Competencies / Skills

Mandatory Skills

  • 6–8 years of experience in BIM/CAD modelling and drawing production for maritime, coastal, civil infrastructure, or related engineering projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit as the primary BIM authoring and modelling platform, with strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Proficiency in Dynamo, scripting, or other automation and parametric design tools to support BIM modelling, workflow optimization, and digital project delivery.
  • Experience in developing BIM models and engineering drawings for ports, harbours, marine terminals, jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, and associated maritime infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of BIM processes and collaborative workflows, including multidisciplinary coordination, model federation, clash detection, and industry standards such as ISO 19650.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality BIM models, drawings, and documentation within project schedules.
  • Experience in BIM data management, quality control, model audits, and ensuring compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and client requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, BIM Coordinators, and multidisciplinary project teams to support successful project delivery.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Revit for BIM modelling, documentation, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Experience with Dynamo or other automation tools to enhance BIM workflows, model quality, and productivity.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks and multidisciplinary BIM coordination processes.
  • Exposure to maritime, coastal, port, or waterfront infrastructure projects and a strong interest in digital engineering innovation.
  • B.Tech/ B.E. in Civil Engineering
