About The Role

This is a local pickup and delivery role , operating tautliner and tailgate trucks and delivering freight to businesses and customers throughout Singleton and the surrounding community .

About the Role

As an HR Driver, you will be responsible for

  • Completing local pickups and deliveries throughout Singleton and surrounding areas .
  • Operating HR tautliner and tailgate trucks safely and professionally.
  • Starting at approximately 7:00am, Monday to Friday .
  • Loading and unloading general freight at customer and depot locations.
  • Using tailgate equipment to safely complete deliveries and collections.
  • Ensuring freight is correctly secured in accordance with load restraint requirements .
  • Completing daily vehicle pre-start checks and reporting any defects.
  • Checking freight and delivery documentation for accuracy.
  • Using scanning equipment and completing required delivery records.
  • Planning and managing your daily deliveries efficiently.
  • Providing friendly and professional service to our customers.
  • Communicating with the Operations team regarding delays, delivery issues or customer requirements.
  • Following all Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and safety requirements .
  • Reporting hazards, incidents and safety concerns promptly.
  • Assisting with general operational duties when required.

What You'll Bring

To be successful, you'll need

  • A current HR Driver Licence – mandatory .
  • Previous commercial HR truck-driving experience.
  • Experience operating tautliner and/or tailgate trucks will be highly regarded.
  • Local pickup and delivery ( PUD ) or general freight experience.
  • Good understanding of load restraint and safe freight handling .
  • Ability to safely perform manual handling as part of daily deliveries.
  • Strong commitment to road and workplace safety.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily delivery schedule.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Knowledge of Singleton and the surrounding areas would be advantageous.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday | Approximately 7:00am start
  • This is a permanent full-time position , with some flexibility required depending on daily freight volumes and operational requirements.
