Job Description

About the role

As a Hardware Tester / Test Engineer, you ensure the functionality, quality, and reliability of hardware and systems through your expertise as well as structured testing and experimental setups. You support products from requirements definition through verification, analyze measurement data, and derive well- founded recommendations for action.

You work closely with R&D, Quality, and other interfaces, develop test strategies and automated test procedures. The results are documented in a transparent and traceable manner and serve as a basis for technical decisions and continuous product improvement.

Responsibilities

  • The Hardware Tester / Test Engineer will be responsible for the e xecution of hardware and system tests in accordance with test plans
  • Planning, setup, and commissioning of experimental and test benches
  • Programming and maintenance of measurement and test systems (e.g., LabVIEW)
  • Recording, analysis, and evaluation of measurement data (e.g., using DIAdem)
  • Documentation of test results in English
  • Contribution to requirements definition as well as implementation of technical requirements
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation (GDP)
  • Stays up to date with emerging technology and methodologies and will recommend and process/design improvements related to improving the development velocity, and quality output of the R&D hardware teams.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with project managers, engineers (systems, electrical, mechanical), operations and maintenance teams, and external engineers/vendors .

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field; experience in mechatronics is desirable
  • Demonstrates outstanding hard ware verification testing expertise and strong technical skills
  • Several years of experience in hardware testing, testing/ validation or test bench engineering
  • Experience in measurement technology, sensor systems, and test automation
  • Very good knowledge of:
  • LabVIEW (data acquisition, test sequence control)
  • DIAdem (data analysis, evaluation)
  • Analytical and structured working methodology ; self-motivated, organized, with a fact-based and “go-and-see” mentality and a strong drive to understand
  • Familiarity with test data analysis and evaluation
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN/GIT as well as GitHub
  • Experience in System and Reliability Engineering
  • Strong documentation skills (GDP) and practical experience in developing models and graphical representations/abstractions of systems and processes
  • Experience in common Quality Methods (Design Review, DFMEA, Design for Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Stakeholder management and networking skills are desirable
  • Team player with strong communication skills and initiative
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good German and English skills required

W ould be desirable

  • Experience in building automated test systems (e.g., cDAQ , DAQ systems)
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with test management tools (Jira, optionally TestRail)
  • Experience with endurance or lifetime testing
  • Experience with drive systems (BLDC motors, control engineering)

Salary Range Information

€58,500.00 - €89,250.00 EUR Annual
