This role requires at least one day per week in the Kilkenny HQ.

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance sheet and cash flow
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary for management and stakeholders
  • Present management accounts to senior finance management on a periodic basis
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and compliance with accounting standards
  • Act as primary point of contact for external auditors ensuring timely and efficient audit delivery including preparation and delivery of financial statements
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Support on the annual budgeting process
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices to ensure the finance team is consistently pushing the boundaries in terms of efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, product and tech teams to align financial process with business growth
  • Participate in ad hoc global projects as required
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior team members
  • Oversee day to day activities of direct reports where applicable, ensuring tasks are delivered to a high standard.

Skills/Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA)
  • The ideal person will have 5 years PQE with Big 4 or Top 10 audit training. The company will also give strong consideration to Audit Managers/Senior Managers from Big 4 who have an appetite to build their career in industry.

  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) - need to communicate to all levels within the business
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales. Proven track record of interpreting large volumes of data
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview
  • Commercial awareness with ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of wider business factors
  • Have strong financial and analytical acumen as well as excellent Project Management and communication skills
  • Experience with new systems implementations is also an advantage
