About the role

As a FinCrime Operations Specialist, you’ll work closely with our Sales and Operations teams to make customer onboarding smooth, efficient and compliant. You’ll handle KYC/KYB checks, assess customer risk and support the onboarding process, while also monitoring transactions, investigating alerts and identifying potential financial crime risks.

What the role involves

  • Document Collection & Review: Collecting relevant KYC documents from customers and performing first-line reviews to ensure compliance.,
  • Overseeing and Investigating: Monitoring and leading the investigation of customer actions and alerts flagged by Transaction Monitoring (TM) systems, ensuring thorough analysis and appropriate resolution.
  • Manual Account Reviews: Conduct manual reviews of customer accounts and transactions, utilizing analytical techniques to detect and mitigate potential financial crimes (e.g., money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing).
  • Reporting & Escalation: Prepare comprehensive, detailed investigation reports documenting findings, analysis, and clear recommendations for further actions or formal escalations.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as the primary correspondent between the Sales team and Merchants throughout the end-to-end onboarding process.
  • Risk Screening: Screening customer profiles and conducting thorough risk evaluations to safeguard the organization.
  • Enhancing Procedures: Continuous evaluation and enhancement of investigation processes, TM scenarios, and onboarding procedures in alignment with the Compliance team.
  • Automation: Actively contributing to and helping drive the automation of onboarding procedures to increase operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Collaborating with internal teams on dedicated compliance initiatives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Providing specialist compliance expertise, guidance, and support across the organization.

Requirements

About you

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the fintech or payments sector,
  • You have experience onboarding business (B2B) clients in a regulated environment,
  • You possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are a strong plus),
  • You have strong knowledge of KYC processes, AML regulations, and compliance frameworks in the UK and Poland,
  • You have high energy and a strong sense of ownership,
  • You have excellent organisational skills,
  • You have absolute attention to detail,
  • You are data-driven and are able to figure out how to automate processes,
  • You work well in a team and have a strong getting-things-done attitude.

Recruitment process

  • Selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview with our People & Culture Representative. The video meeting will take about 30-45 minutes.
  • Then it’s time for a second interview! The meeting will be conducted by our Head of Merchant Operations and Senior FinCrime Operations Lead - it will last about 1 hour.
  • As a last step, you can expect a meeting with our Chief Executive Officer.
  • If successful, you will be given a job offer proposal.
