Job Description - Lead Civil/ Structural Engineer - Onshore

Title: Lead Civil/ Structural Engineer

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join our engineering team supporting oil and gas projects across the UAE and wider GCC/Middle East region. The successful candidate will take technical ownership of civil and structural deliverables across FEED, detailed design, and EPC project phases, leading a discipline team and interfacing directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.

The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a thorough understanding of UAE regulations, international engineering codes, and oil and gas industry practices . The Lead Engineer will work closely with project management, other engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, and construction teams to ensure that engineering deliverables are technically sound, coordinated, and delivered in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Civil/Structural engineering activities for the project during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases
  • Prepare and manage discipline execution plans, structural design basis, philosophies, deliverable registers, checking/approval matrices and engineering work-hour estimates.
  • Define analysis approach, review assumptions, verify results and approve Civil/Structural calculations, reports, specifications, drawings and technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate metocean, geotechnical, weight-control, survey, inspection, fabrication, installation, constructability, operations and multidisciplinary inputs.
  • Lead interdisciplinary, model, constructability and safety reviews with client, IVB, operations, fabrication, installation and third-party stakeholders.
  • Manage discipline progress, schedule, budget, manpower forecast, estimate-to-complete, workshare execution, subcontracted engineering, quality requirements and change control.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of oil and gas structural engineering experience, including 5 years in a lead role.
  • Proven experience across FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, PMC, construction support, brownfield modification phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, or a related discipline will be considered an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of onshore oil & gas Civil & Structural design: foundations (including raft/pile design), drainage systems, steel and RC structures, pipe racks, and equipment support structures .
  • Proficiency with relevant design software (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE,Mat3d, ETABS).
  • Strong technical leadership, engineering assurance, risk identification, quality control, communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
